This is my first blog post on my new blog site!
I’m excited to start a blog on fun mathematics and physics. I have a few blog post ideas lined up that I want to start out with, and of course I’m all ears for suggestions about some math or physics concept that I can try to explain in as simple and clear a way as I can manage. I’d like to follow a kind of tutorial-like format for my posts.
It may be a couple weeks before I can really get this thing going since I have a few other things on my plate at the moment, but after I get started in earnest I would like to make about a post per week.
I think the first one will be on fractals and how they are generated. I’ve written some computer programs that allow me to generate arbitrary fractals, and I’d like to share that code with the world and hopefully inspire others to explore the beauty that can arise out of relatively simple math (really, I promise it is! If you don’t already know how to make them, you’ll be surprised how simple they really are! But that’s what I’m going to try to explain.)
SO… I’ll be back in a couple weeks or so and get this site underway. I just have to clean up my code and make it presentable, and develop a kind of “lesson,” if you will, for it.
